The inaugural York Girls’ Futsal Cup has wrapped up after four weeks of exciting competition, and what an incredible event it was! With over 100 girls taking part - many experiencing futsal for the first time - the tournament showcased both the enthusiasm and talent of young female athletes across York and beyond.

Proudly sponsored by Walker Crips Financial Planning, the competition saw teams from Bishopthorpe White Rose, York Railway Institute, Wigginton Grasshoppers, Elloughton Blackburn, Hull Eagles Futsal Club and Strensall Tigers battle it out across four age categories. From Bootham Futsal Club’s comeback victory in the U10s to the thrilling U14s final, every match reflected the skill, determination and sportsmanship that makes futsal such a fantastic game.

As strong supporters of grassroots sports and opportunities for young people, we were delighted to sponsor this inspiring event and help more girls experience the game in a fun and inclusive environment. A huge congratulations to all the teams that took part and to Bootham Futsal Club for their hard work in organising such a brilliant competition.
