We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Walker Crips Group has been shortlisted in five categories at this year's prestigious PIMFA Diversity & Inclusion (“D&I”) Awards.
PIMFA, the trade association for the wealth management, investment services and financial advice sector, launched the D&I Awards in 2021. PIMFA's objective is to promote talent, diversity and inclusion within the industry, highlight best practices and develop initiatives to better reflect the increasingly diverse customer base.
Walker Crips Group has been recognised in the following company categories:
Best Approach to Wellbeing
Best D&I Initiative (51-350 employees)
Additionally, we are proud to announce that Kameka McLean, our Group Head of Human Resources, has been shortlisted for not one, but three individual categories:
Overall DE&I Champion
D&I Executive Sponsor
Rising Talent
Throughout the year, Walker Crips has been actively involved in various D&I initiatives. Here are some notable highlights:
In May of this year, Walker Crips was recognised as a Disability Confident Employer. This significant achievement signifies our commitment to employing individuals with disabilities and fostering an inclusive work environment. Disability Confident is a government scheme which aims to change attitudes towards disability and provide equal opportunities for disabled individuals to realise their potential.
Equality is a core principle of the Equality Act 2010. In line with this legislation, Walker Crips recently conducted an internal review to ensure equal pay for equal work, without any unjustifiable differences in remuneration between genders. This inclusive approach not only covers basic salaries but also considers other benefits and allowances, ensuring fairness throughout our organisation.
Our D&I initiatives have yielded positive results over the past year. As part of our commitment to continuously evaluate and improve, we implemented an Employee Net Promoter Score (“eNPS”) survey. In the most recent survey, our employees rated the company's D&I initiatives 9 out of 10. This excellent feedback further motivates us to continue creating an inclusive and supportive workplace.
At Walker Crips, we understand that diversity, encompassing gender, religion, ethnicity and more, contributes to improved talent attraction and employee retention. We actively embrace our differences and commemorate important awareness events throughout the calendar, such as International Women's Day and Black History Month.
We strongly believe that bringing together diverse perspectives, ideas and approaches fosters innovation and enhances overall performance. To support those at the beginning of their professional journey, we have established a graduate scheme that provides valuable development opportunities. Additionally, we have partnered with learning providers to offer apprenticeships and work experience programmes for school leavers, enabling access to the financial industry to students from a broad range of backgrounds.
The winners of the PIMFA D&I Awards will be determined by a panel of industry peers and experts. These winners will be unveiled during an awards ceremony at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel in London on 12 October 2023.
