Walker Crips, the investment and wealth management group, celebrates the first anniversary of Walker Cambria - its first office in Wales.

Over the last year, Walker Cambria has built a strong client base with intermediaries across Wales using its risk managed, discretionary investment portfolios.

Led by Andrew Morgan and Gary Waite from its office in Swansea, Walker Cambria provides bespoke and model portfolio services as an outsourced solution for IFAs and wealth managers.

Andrew Morgan, Portfolio Manager at Walker Cambria Investment Management, says:

“Post RDR, we have seen business being driven by portfolios worth under £100,000, as well as larger portfolios. These are typically excluded from other investment managers’ considerations so the level of appetite that we have seen from ‘smaller’ portfolios has surpassed our initial expectations.

“With the limited number of investment managers based here in Wales, we have been able to capitalise on offering our outsourced discretionary investment solutions to the large number of IFAs in the local region.” 

Gary Waite, Portfolio Manager at Walker Cambria Investment Management, says:

“The success of our first year in Wales validated our business strategy which focuses primarily on risk management. Going in to our second year we will look to build on our existing client base as well as growing our assets under management.”
