Walker Crips, the Stockbroker, Wealth and Investment Manager, announces the launch of Walker Cambria, a unique brand, which will enable Walker Crips to offer a service designed specifically for the Welsh market. Walker Cambria, led by Andrew Morgan and Gary Waite, will provide both bespoke and managed portfolio services as an outsourced solution for IFAs and wealth managers locally out of its office in Swansea.
Andrew Morgan, originally from Carmarthenshire, has spent the majority of his career working as a fund manager at Mitsubishi-UFJ Asset Management where he specialised in UK and European equities. He has also spent time in global equities at BlackRock and managing private client portfolios for Brewin Dolphin.
Gary Waite began his career as a government economist in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, before becoming a fund manager at CTC. His career has involved time in Australia as an analyst and as a director within the European Specialist team at BlackRock.
Supporting the fund management team will be Andrew Davies who joins Walker Cambria after seven years at Brewin Dolphin. He will be responsible for new business development. Andrew was formerly a professional cricketer for Glamorgan.
Rodney FitzGerald, chief executive officer at Walker Crips, said:
“Walker Crips recognise that the Welsh market is different from that of the rest of the UK owing to the growing local prominence of intermediaries. The Walker Cambria brand will provide the platform for us to extend our highly tailored services to the investment intermediary community of Wales.
“Walker Cambria is the latest addition in our targeted push for regional growth and reflects the success of our investment proposition. Andrew and Gary bring a wealth of industry experience and their local knowledge will be invaluable in enabling Walker Crips to serve the Welsh market."
Andrew Morgan, portfolio manager at Walker Cambria Investment Management, said:
“Despite the large number of high quality IFAs in Wales, there are currently only a few discretionary fund managers based here. Walker Cambria will be the only firm offering a complete outsourced solution from Swansea. We have significant local knowledge enabling us to offer a high quality investment management service to Wales.”
Gary Waite, portfolio manager at Walker Cambria Investment Management, said:
“Walker Cambria brings to Wales 100 years of stock picking experience. We have a strong focus on risk management and extensive connections with the City. I look forward to putting our expertise to use in the Welsh market.”
